Operation "Good Wishes"

(I) a simple start to reduce intercultural barriers
Send good wishes to your foreign partners or contact persons via Email at festive occasions of your own country like New Year - just as you would send them to your European partners.

You can also send good wishes on festive occasions of your partners' country. For example: Chinese New Year, the Thai Water Festival (Songkran Festival), the Hindu Festival of Light (Diwali) or the Islamic Holiday of Breaking Fast (Eid al-Fitr).

Note these dates in your appointment book. It will help you remember to express your personal best wishes during a video conference or a phone call, to send a greeting mail or even a greeting card as a surprise.

We put together for you a "Greetings Calendar" with different countries and their most important public holidays. Please click here. Do you know any "Greeting Days" of countries not part of our list? Send us an Email: info@huang-jaumann.de

(II) You can do even more...
Apart from sending greetings you could for example describe the meaning and procedure of a German Christmas which is unknown to a lot of Asians. The exchange of short personal messages in a business letter is equally helpful. Ask your colleague what he has planned for the holidays, how he spent his holidays etc. In case of a natural disaster you should show compassion and send a message expressing your sympathy.

Although this brief exchange has nothing to do with business it will form an important basis within the different work environments of two human beings. You will experience for yourself the gradual change of mood between the colleagues.
